This active, yet tranquil, community prides itself
on its spirit of volunteerism.
Culturally, the gazebo, at the municipal complex,
is the site of free outdoor summer concerts. The Little Red Schoolhouse
is a well-known borough landmark and the borough's official symbol.
The borough is home to two institutions of higher learning: the
College of St. Elizabeth at Convent Station and Fairleigh Dickinson
University's Florham-Madison campus.

Road, offers a ball field.

RECREATION:
The community center offers children, senior and teen activities,
such as after-school programs, cooking, arts and crafts. Outdoor

BOROUGH SERVICES:
Recyclables are picked up every other Wednesday. Pickups of heavy
items such as refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners are available
three times a year by calling (973) 410-5330. Residents may dispose
of toys, rugs and furniture in the borough's compactor, located
at the Environmental Center on Columbia Turnpike, open every Saturday
from 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Grass and garden debris pickups are made
weekly from April through October.
